The Daily Mail says the digital milestone has been passed in 10 months.

Mail+ hits 100,000 paying subscribers
Ted Verity: “The success of Mail+ is proof that readers are happy to pay for the kind of high-quality journalism the Mail has long been famous for.”

The Daily Mail says its online subscription service Mail+ has reached 100,000 paying subscribers - less than 10 months after its launch.

Rolled out across MailOnline’s website and apps at the end of January, Mail+ allows readers to enjoy hundreds of extra articles from the Mail's team of journalists.

They include showbiz and royal exclusives, real-life stories, health and personal finance advice and the Mail's line-up of star columnists.

The publisher says while around 30 articles a day are only available to Mail+ subscribers - for just £1.99 per month for the first year - the majority of MailOnline content remains free.

Last month Mail+ was rolled out to Australian and New Zealand readers, with a US launch planned in 2025.

Ted Verity, Daily Mail editor-in-chief, said: “The success of Mail+ is proof that readers are happy to pay for the kind of high-quality journalism the Mail has long been famous for.

“To hit 100,000 subscribers so quickly is a fantastic achievement and a huge testament to the brilliance of our journalists and the Mail+ team.

“But this is just the start - and we are hungry for much, much more.”
