IPC Inspire appoints Matthew Gerry as Digital Strategy Director

IPC Inspire, the men’s division of IPC Media, has appointed Matthew Gerry as its digital strategy director.

Currently digital strategy director for Haymarket Business Media (HBM), Matthew (pictured) will work with Inspire’s publishing directors to drive digital development across the division’s portfolio of brands.

Matthew joined Haymarket in 2006 as online publisher for the company's medical division. The following year he became online publisher across HBM’s group of marketing and media titles, including Brand Republic, Campaign, Marketing and Media Week. He was promoted to his current position in 2010 and has taken a lead role in driving HBM’s registration and paid content strategy. Prior to HBM, Matthew was head of eMedia at VNU Business Publications (now part of Incisive Media) and he is also the current chair of the AOP’s B2B committee.

In his new position, Matthew will report to Inspire managing director Paul Williams, who says: “I’m delighted to appoint someone of Matthew’s calibre and experience to this important role. It’s an exciting time for Inspire in the digital space with lots of initiatives having been launched in the last year and with many more in the pipeline. Matthew is the perfect choice to work alongside our publishing directors to define and develop the online strategies for the various markets that Inspire serves.”

Matthew adds: “I’m thrilled to be joining Paul’s team at IPC Inspire and at the prospect of working across their leading consumer media brands. Inspire has developed some outstanding digital products and I’m looking forward to helping the team find new ways to create content and grow revenues.”

Matthew’s starting date with IPC Inspire will be announced in due course.
