IPC promotes Romano Sidoli

IPC Media has announced the promotion of IPC Classified group ad director Romano Sidoli, who is extending his responsibilities to include the department’s Single Sites sales teams as well as its finance and production functions.

Currently, Romano (pictured) heads up the IPC Connect, Inspire and Southbank Classified sales teams and will retain this responsibility in his new wider role, which takes effect immediately.

Romano joined IPC as classified sales executive in February 2001 and has since progressed rapidly through the ranks, having held a number of senior sales positions prior to his appointment as Classified advertisement director in June 2011. He took up his current role in June this year.

Romano will report to IPC Inspire managing director Paul Williams. Paul says: “I’m delighted to announce Romano’s promotion. He is a hugely talented sales manager with a very successful track record in every role he’s held. He is renowned for his innovative thinking, highlighted most recently when he led a transformation of Classified’s industry-acclaimed training and induction programmes. He is a huge asset to IPC and the ideal person to take on this role.”

Romano will now join both the IPC Inspire senior management team and the IPC Advertising board. He says: “I feel hugely honoured to be given this opportunity to head up the Classified department as a whole. Having been fortunate to have worked alongside Cathy Neale for so many years, I believe I’m ideally placed to continue to build on the industry-leading and award-winning culture that she championed.”

Innovator, IPC’s centralised insert and cross-platform direct response division headed by ad director Declan Boyle, will now report to IPC Advertising trading director Kate Mackenzie.
