Johnston Press partners with Coinks

Johnston Press plc has signed a new partnership with Coinks, part of an online intelligent promotional marketing services company, to help grow its online daily deals platform.

DealMonster was launched by Johnston Press in September 2011 and now operates across a large part of the UK and on the Isle of Man within the company’s publishing footprint.

Coinks is a loyalty and reward network through which subscribers collect points from household brands which they can spend on hundreds of products.

The new partnership will enable DealMonster deals to be promoted on the Coinks website and targeted at its extensive database of engaged customers across the UK.

The Johnston Press team will be able to create more intelligent and informed e-mail campaigns, for example sending beauty deals to women and family deals to those with children. The partnership will also enable the company to better target promotions to benefit genuine purchasers, improving their user experience with DealMonster.

Nick Ashwood, DealMonster business development manager, said: “We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to run the Coinks Deals site. Forming partnerships with media and database owners is a key part of our strategy as these allow us to leverage the reach of the deals we’re already sourcing.

“Coinks Deals gives us a 10x increase in audience reach and will allow us to expand the footprint of the business beyond the traditional Johnston Press circulation area. It gives us a large-scale national coverage that would otherwise require high levels of marketing investment.

“While it’s important that we act quickly to make the most of this opportunity, we will focus on testing and warm-up in December before launching the business fully in January 2013.”
