Liverpool Echo partners with Radio City

Trinity Mirror and Bauer Media Group have recently agreed a collaboration between the Liverpool Echo and Radio City 96.7.

Bauer Media says: These well recognised and well-loved brands have been keeping Liverpool, Merseyside and North Wales up to date with the news for longer than some people can remember. Recent talks between the two companies have led to a long term deal where The Liverpool Echo will be featured each day on Radio City promoting each unique edition of the paper, plus additional branded content through presenter discussion live on air.

The City’s biggest commercial radio station, have gone all out and will produce daily commercials for each edition of the City’s favourite newspaper as they hit the local newsstands. Mike Sarath, Commercial Director for Radio City said: “This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for two of the City’s most recognised brands. It feels great to be working closely with the Echo, combining the strength of the two companies to help drive sales of the paper with unique commercials for each daily edition.”

The partnership came into effect yesterday, Monday March 4th when Radio City started taking the news content from the Echo’s daily editorial meetings and turning it into fresh campaigns hitting the airwaves in tandem with the paper’s hitting the streets the following day. Alastair Machray, Editor, Liverpool Echo, Editor-in-Chief, Trinity Mirror Merseyside, Cheshire and Wales said “I am delighted to be shaking hands on such an exciting partnership. This deal gives us a chance to showcase our award-winning news, sport and features to the widest possible audience.

“The Echo is all about giving our readers the big stories first, fighting for our readers and our city, and filling our pages with imagination and surprises. We are thrilled to be working with Radio City to get that message across.”
