Lynne Fernquest appointed editor of Bath Chronicle

Lynne Fernquest, editor of the Western Gazette, has been appointed editor of the Bath Chronicle.

Lynne (pictured) began her career in 1986 as a trainee reporter at the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal. In 1993 she joined the South Wales Evening Post as sub editor rising to assistant editor in 1995. Lynne was promoted to editor of the Western Gazette in 2010.

Lynne will play a key role in the business moving forward, helping to further develop both the Bath Chronicle and www.thisisbath.co.uk

Lynne said: ‘I am honoured to have been appointed editor of such a prestigious newspaper serving such a glorious city. High-quality local journalism is at the heart of what we do and champions our local community. Joining such a fantastic team of journalists, salespeople and experts in multi-media is a really exciting prospect.’

A successor for the Western Gazette will be announced shortly. Lynne starts her new role on the 2 July 2012.
