Marketing appoints new editor

Marketing Magazine has appointed Gareth Jones as editor, replacing Lucy Barrett, who left the magazine earlier this year.

Gareth Jones (pictured), who has been Marketing’s acting editor since January, takes over the full role with immediate effect.

Previously, Jones was editor of Haymarket’s monthly digital magazine Revolution, which was rolled into Marketing at the end of last year.

This is Jones’ second stint on Marketing. He joined the magazine as digital editor in November 2006 before being promoted to the role of news editor in January 2008.

“Gareth is a perfect fit as editor of Marketing and I am looking forward to developing the brand with him,” said Rachael Stilwell, publishing director of Haymarket Brand Media

Jones said: “It’s a privilege to be taking up the reins of such a well-respected title during a time of almost limitless challenge and opportunity for marketers.”

Jones will continue in his role as editor of Revolution, which is now available as a standalone quarterly title exclusively to Marketing subscribers.
