Metro announces changes to senior management team

Matt Teeman is to move to dmg media as Client Sales as Commercial Director, and Karen Wall and Grant Woodthorpe are returning to the business.

Metro says: Matt Teeman, is moving to dmg media’s Client Sales team as Commercial Director in early January and will work alongside Marcus Rich to continue our efforts to improve upon the marketing solutions we bring to the market as well as undertake work on other group projects. Matt has spent 14 months at Metro following his role of Managing Director of Advertising at Immediate Media.

Grant Woodthorpe will rejoin Metro as Trading Director. Grant first joined in 2000 and held roles including Trading Director and Executive Director – Sales. Throughout his time at Metro he played a key role leading the sales team, working with the Press Directors and substantially growing revenues. During Woodthorpe’s last term at Metro, his team won the prestigious Campaign Print Sales Team of the Year award.

Karen Wall will also return to Metro as Executive Director, following 18 months at Northcliffe Media and latterly Local World where she held a similar role. Karen will be responsible for Marketing, Research, Communication and Talent at Metro. Karen first joined Metro in 1999 and was responsible for positioning Metro as a leading media brand through insight and innovative trade marketing. She was also responsible for Metro’s talent strategy ensuring the business retained and attracted outstanding people and was regularly featured as one of the best places to work.
