MPP powers CRM and payments for Daily Mail

Mail Plus, the new version of the Daily Mail which provides all of the content in the paper plus an array of enhanced interactive content, has now launched across all major tablets.

MPP’s eSuite platform is deployed to support all marketing, registration and payment activity.

MPP Global Solutions, a leading provider of payment services and eCommerce solutions to the media and entertainment industries, are providing an advanced suite of eCommerce capabilities to dmg media, the consumer media company of DMGT plc and home to The Daily Mail. Consumer registration and payment, recurring payments, bundles, CRM integration with salesforce and entitlement management in conjunction with Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite are all areas where MPP is helping dmg media behind the scenes to monetise interactive digital editions of The Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday.

According to MPP, Mail Plus beautifully enhances Britain's most popular mid-market newspaper and provides all the content from the Daily Mail newspaper, and more, in a visually exciting and easy-to-read format and features an array of interactive features and content exclusive to the app.

MPP have worked rapidly to integrate their payments technology into the fully branded website www.dailymailplus.co.uk, utilising their eSuite platform including the ePayment and eManager modules. The Mail-branded subscription and billing channel operates separately but in parallel to Apple iTunes, Amazon Kindle and Android, enabling dmg media to easily monetise its digital content across multiple platforms.

The microsite, which is hosted in MPP’s PCI compliant data centre, makes use of ePayment to provide marketing and pricing information to consumers before enabling registration into salesforce and payment collection. Consumers are given the choice of payment methods, including direct debit, credit card and PayPal and payment details are stored to enable repeat and recurring payments to be carried out. In a first for media companies, dmg media are able to report on revenues and other analytics by having complete visibility of all orders, even some of those taken via Apple or Amazon payment accounts, says MPP. Every order is imported into the MPP subsystem and available in eHQ, MPP’s back office management console.

Other features include eManager which enables customers to self-manage their subscriptions, view order history, upgrade and downgrade between different bundles of Mail Plus products as well as to log help queries. Thanks to MPP’s eDeveloper product, dmg media are also able to offer single sign-on, confidently check entitlements across any device, customise entitlement rules, link payment accounts for recurring subscriptions, offer gift subscriptions and accept single edition sales.

Neil Johnson, Managing Director at dmg media mobile, said: “Driving publishing revenues in the digital age is an increasing priority. We are pleased to be working with MPP Global Solutions, their innovative and flexible payment solutions enable dmg media to power the next generation of customer experience and react quickly to market changes. MPP have demonstrated they are experts in the field of monetising digital content for publishers in what is a dramatically changing landscape.”
