National Geographic Traveller increases frequency

National Geographic Traveller UK is set to increase its frequency in 2013, from eight issues, to ten. The January/February issue goes on sale 6 December, priced £3.85.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: “The most widely read travel magazine in the world National Geographic Traveller launched an alternate monthly edition in December 2010 to offer British readers a unique editorial flavour, based around the core principles of the U.S. original – celebrating journeys about place, experience, culture and authenticity, coupled with great photography.

With the theme of “All Travel, All the Time”, National Geographic Traveller (UK) avoids fashion and fluff, instead offering articles with a strong sense of place, people and culture. With a storytelling style and stunning, you-are-there photography, every issue inspires readers to visit the destinations featured.

As the long winter nights get increasingly colder, many people are starting to look towards warmer climes and the Jan/Feb-13 issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK) will have some of the best travel hotspots around the world. From China to Zambia, by way of Denmark, Russia and Tanzania, this issue will look at places that are either unfamiliar to travellers or so far off the beaten track as to be new and exotic to them.

In addition, the Jan/Feb-13 issue of this increasingly popular holiday title has extensive features about destinations such as Iceland, Mozambique, South Korea and Peru.

Elsewhere, this issue will feature city breaks to Amsterdam and Budapest, while there is also a competition for one lucky family to win a ten-day trip to India.

Not concentrating solely on the far-flung corners of the world, National Geographic Traveller (UK) has also revisited some more familiar countries and the Jan/Feb-13 issue will show some new and surprising places in France, Italy, the USA and even Britain!

As its popularity and influence has grown, National Geographic Traveller (UK) increased in frequency in 2012 from six to eight per year. From the ‘Family’ issue (on sale 10/01/13), the title will increase again, to ten per annum, meaning more retail sales value.”
