New Circulation Director for Archant Anglia

Don Williamson has been appointed Circulation Director for Archant Anglia, the newly-formed division of Archant which encompasses Norfolk, Suffolk, Herts and Cambs, just days after he helped achieve industry-leading newspaper circulation figures for the second six months in a row.

Don (pictured) will report directly to Archant Anglia MD Johnny Hustler.

Archant Anglia’s titles include four daily newspapers (including the Eastern Daily Press and East Anglian Daily Times), 30 weekly newspaper titles and around 15 magazines.

Don said: “I am looking forward to renewing my links with the Archant Suffolk, Herts & Cambs titles and working closely with both editorial and commercial colleagues in order to meet our circulation goals.”

Archant Norfolk has just announced industry-leading ABC circulation figures with increases for both of its daily titles and all five weekly paid-for newspapers. This followed increases for most of the Archant Norfolk newspaper titles in December, says the company.

Archant Norfolk’s Audience Growth Team under Don’s leadership won the Archant Team of the Year Award 2010 and Archant Norfolk’s Eastern Daily Press won the Association of Circulation Executives Regional Excellence in Circulation Award 2010.

Don has over 30 years experience in regional newspapers. After graduating from university he became a commercial trainee with the Leicester Mercury part of the Daily Mail’s regional Northcliffe Group. He became Circulation Manager for the Kent & Sussex Courier Group and then joined EMAP as Sales & Marketing Manager before joining Archant in Norwich. Don is a member of the Newspaper Society Newspaper Sales Action Team and on the ABC Regional Standards Committee.
