New Latin American construction magazine launched

International business-to-business publisher KHL Group has launched a new magazine for the fast-growing Latin American construction sector.

Available in both Spanish and Portuguese, Construcción Latinoamericana/Construção Latino-Americana (CLA) is a first for the market and an initiative that ensures readers in Central and Southern America have full access to in-depth construction information from across the region for the first time, says KHL.

Commenting on the launch, KHL Group publisher James King said, "CLA is a first for Latin America in terms of both its bi-lingual approach, and the high standards of design and independent editorial.

“By publishing in Portuguese as well as Spanish, we are making the magazine accessible to the Brazilian market, which represents about 50% of construction activity in the region, and to the other countries in the region.

“Backed by a large, audited circulation, the magazine has already been warmly welcomed by readers and other stakeholders across the construction industry.

“To launch any new magazine in these challenging times is impressive enough, but to do that in a continent many thousands of miles away in two languages, neither of which is English, is quite an achievement.”

In addition to the monthly magazine, CLA is also launching weekly newsletters in Spanish and Portuguese to keep readers up to date with the latest news. And those readers who prefer digital media can also receive CLA as a monthly digital magazine in .pdf format.

The first edition of the magazine includes interviews with key figures in the Latin American construction industry, including Mário Humberto Marques, president of Brazilian equipment manufacturing association, Sobratema, Yoshio Kawakami, president of Volvo Construction Equipment Latin America, Martin Carriquiry, president of FIIC (The Inter-American Federation of Construction Industry), plus a round-up of the latest news and equipment for the region.

In addition, the magazine also includes stories sourced outside the region, including an interview with Zeng Guang'an, president of Chinese equipment manufacturer, Liugong, which is targeting Latin America as a key export market.

The magazine and newsletters are edited by Santiago, Chile-based Cristián Peters, a well-known and experienced construction and mining journalist, with contributions from KHL’s experienced editorial team in the US and UK.
