Newhouse appointed Business Director of Ars Technica UK

S. I. Newhouse IV has been appointed Business Director of Ars Technica UK, it was announced yesterday by Nicholas Coleridge, President of Condé Nast International and Managing Director of Condé Nast Britain.

"We are delighted S. I. Newhouse has agreed to take on this position, in which he will be responsible for all aspects of the digitally native brand launching in Spring 2015. S. I. is uniquely placed to build Ars Technica here, having already gained valuable experience working with the successful US iteration of the brand,” commented Coleridge.

Ars Technica - the name is Latin-derived for the 'art of technology' - is one of the world's key technology media brands, recognised for the breadth and depth of its content, insight and ability to reach influencers, programmers and those who live and work on the leading edge of computing, says Condé Nast.

S. I. Newhouse added: "One of the hottest tech media properties, I'm looking forward to establishing Ars Technica in Britain, building on the already significant recognition and audience for the US site here, and capitalising on the breadth of opportunities we will be able to offer to both our clients and to our readers."

S. I. Newhouse has been working for Condé Nast for more than 10 years. Prior to moving to Condé Nast Britain, S. I. was based with the American business, developing new print and digital initiatives in the Condé Nast Consumer Marketing Division. Later, S.I. spent time working on the development, management and marketing of Wired.com, reddit.com and Ars.Technica.com.

S. I. Newhouse will take up his new position with immediate effect, and will report to Albert Read, Deputy Managing Director of Condé Nast Britain.
