Nuts creates Fast & Furious interactive special edition

Nuts, IPC Media’s weekly men’s magazine, has created its first interactive digital special edition for the Apple newsstand.

The Nuts Fast & Furious 6 Special has been created to promote the sixth film in the hit Fast & Furious movie franchise.

According to IPC Media: Bespoke content has been created for the 78-page digital edition with 17 pieces of interactive content as well as a wealth of video content, trailers and behind the scenes features. The special edition is a definitive guide to Fast & Furious 6 and features interviews with Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Vin Diesel, biographies of all the main characters, insight into how the film was put together, plus an experts’ guide to all the classic cars used in filming. Fronted by Nuts’ favourite Rosie Jones – in a stunning new shoot which also stars a 1970 Dodge Charger – the special also features a round-up of the funniest and most expensive prangs in world of motoring, plus regular Nuts favourites including Pub Ammo and Rude News.

The Nuts Fast & Furious 6 Special is free to download from 13th May for users that have downloaded the Nuts iPhone or iPad app from the Apple Newsstand. The special’s release follows the success of the Nuts digital edition, which has attracted over one million downloads since launching in November 2012 and has achieved top rankings in both the UK iPhone and iPad Apple Newsstand charts.

Jo Smalley, publishing director of Nuts, says: "We’re delighted to launch our first interactive digital special and our readers are going to love it. We already know the Nuts audience loves to interact with the brand across all our platforms, particularly mobile devices, so we’re thrilled to offer all the excitement Nuts and Fast & Furious 6 can deliver via this special edition, packed with interactive features.”

Rob Hunt, head of Creative Media, IPC Men & Music, adds: “We’re really pleased to be working on this project. Our brilliant, in-depth, exclusive content and the promotional might behind it, create the perfect example of what a cross-platform campaign looks like in 2013.”

The Nuts Fast & Furious 6 Special will be supported with promotions in the print edition of Nuts, online on Nuts.co.uk and across the Nuts mobile platform.
