PPA gets customers to Just Ask for magazines

The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) is encouraging magazine buyers to have their favourite titles delivered to their door as part of its ongoing programme to support sales among independent retailers.

The PPA’s Retail Marketing Group (RMG) has produced a new canvassing leaflet that retailers can use to drive customers to take out a Home News Delivery (HND) order of magazines.

The canvassing leaflet is produced under the banner of Just Ask, the PPA’s Shop Save and HND initiative, which is promoted to readers through retail stores and within magazine pages.

The PPA has been providing Just Ask point of sale (PoS) material since the initiative rolled out nationally at the beginning of 2011. PoS packs contain posters, shelf-talkers and a best-practice guide to Shop Save and HND services.

Kate McElroy (pictured), Head of Circulation at the PPA, said: “This development is part of the PPA’s ongoing commitment to support independent retailers in growing their businesses. HND offers huge potential sales growth for magazines through the existing infrastructure in place for HND of newspapers and Just Ask provides a recognisable point of reference for retailers and consumers alike.”

McElroy added: “Just five per cent of magazine sales are home delivered compared with 26 per cent of newspapers and we are working to build this sales channel through the Just Ask brand.”

The Just Ask HND canvassing leaflet is available to download from the Retail channel of the PPA website and is also available via iMenzies and Connect2U.

Just Ask PoS packs can be requested by emailing retail@ppa.co.uk or by calling PPA Retail on 020 7400 7529.
