RadioTimes.com boasts best ever visitor figures

RadioTimes.com has had record numbers of visitors (over 3.54 million unique users in both October and November) and is now the number one visited UK television and radio listings site, says Immediate Media.

According to Immediate Media: RadioTimes.com had more visitors to the site than ever before in October, with 3,549,511 unique users, a 64% increase year on year and up 18% (or 532,000 visitors) on September; which itself had been a new benchmark for the site with over 3million visitors.

Tim Glanfield, RadioTimes.com Editor, said: “It’s testament to the enduring power of quality content, smart ideas and great journalism, that in Radio Times 90th year we’re growing so fast. Radio Times has never been more relevant to people of different ages or more talked about. September was also the first time that more people came to RadioTimes.com for editorial content than for TV listings - proving that this is not a time of doom and gloom for journalism, rather the beginning of a new age of content provision for a digital world.”

In November RadioTimes.com had its busiest day ever with 305,409 unique visitors on Sunday 24 November, the day after Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary programme.

Radio Times’ also launched Radio Times DiscoverTV iPad app in November. Radio Times DiscoverTV is a new daily TV and radio recommendations and discovery service; helping you discover your new favourite programmes today wherever they are - on TV, catch-up or on-demand. Available on iPad and optimised for iOS7, Radio Times DiscoverTV is a freemium app with a 30-day free trial of the premium features. A free limited service is available without subscription with easy-to use, 14 day customised TV and radio listings, by provider and location, and basic programme information.

Since becoming part of Immediate Media Co in November 2011, there has been an increased investment Radio Times’ digital portfolio: including a redesign of the site; a renewed editorial focus on TV, radio and entertainment news and content, alongside comprehensive TV and radio listings; and an enlarged editorial team. This has attracted new visitors and advertisers alike, with the site making a profit for the first time in its 16 year history.
