Rhotic Media has announced the appointment of Niamh Smith as editor of its customer title Financial Promoter.
Niamh has worked as a writer at Rhotic Media for three-and-a-half years, and, having completed Rhotic’s degree apprenticeship programme, has worked on campaigns for clients across a range of financial services sectors, added the company.
“We have watched Niamh develop through her degree apprenticeship and first six-months as a full-time writer, and this appointment is testament to the work she has put in since joining in 2021,” said Elizabeth Pfeuti, director at Rhotic Media and publishing director at Financial Promoter.
Rhotic Media says in her new role, Niamh will be responsible for the title’s next growth phase, overseeing readership growth, attending industry functions and building out content themes for FP’s print and digital outlets, along with a growing roster of events.
“I’m excited to step into the role of editor at Financial Promoter, a title that has already established itself as a key voice in marketing for financial services,” Smith said.
“This position brings together my experience as a financial writer and the insights I gained from my digital marketing qualifications,” said Niamh. “Drawing on these two key elements, I aim to build on FP’s strong foundation by offering fresh insights and perspectives for marketers in this dynamic sector.”
In her role as editor, Niamh will take a key role in the brand’s annual programme, including FP Live!, which takes place on 31 March 2025 at the Code Node conference centre in the City of London, the Financial Promoter Awards and new conferences such as the recently announced FP Next Gen Summit.
"With a degree in digital marketing and more than three years writing across all sectors of financial services, I'm excited to work with Niamh on FP and build on its firm foundations to drive forward the title in print, online and through our expanding calendar of events,” said Elizabeth.
“At a time when other parts of the media seem to be scaling back investment and output, we believe -- more strongly than ever -- that there is a place for well-researched, articulate content and events that not only inform and engage, but also help to create a community,” she added.
Rhotic Media says experienced in executive-level interviews, newsgathering, executing campaign strategy and delivering highly tailored content, Niamh is ideally suited to take on the role.
“My goal is to establish Financial Promoter as the go-to resource for financial services marketers, known for quality content, thought leadership, and relevance. By tuning into industry trends and listening to the market, I aim to expand our coverage to ensure the content not only informs but inspires marketers,” Niamh said.
Niamh will be editor, effective January 1, 2025.
