Richard Bowyer appointed Editor of The Stoke Sentinel

Richard Bowyer has been promoted to Editor of The Stoke Sentinel. He joined The Sentinel in May 2006 as Deputy Editor and has played a key part in the paper’s success both in print and online.

Richard (pictured) began his career in journalism at the Coalville and Ashby Times before moving to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph and then the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

In 1992 he joined the Derby Telegraph before becoming the Deputy Editor of the Lincolnshire Echo in 1999. During his time at the Echo the paper won the Newspaper Society’s Newspaper of the Year award.

Richard said: "I feel honoured to take up the role of Editor and I am looking forward to continuing to serve the community of North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

“Thanks to all the hard work put in by the team, we have a fabulous newspaper and a growing online audience. I am looking forward to the exciting times ahead."

Richard will take up his appointment with immediate effect.
