River Group scoop docrafts contract

docrafts, one of the UK’s leading craft distributors, has appointed The River Group to publish its bimonthly craft publication Creativity, along with a suite of other content marketing initiatives.

Creativity is the UK’s bestselling craft magazine, with a regular sale of 50,000 copies per issue through craft stores. For 10 years it has spearheaded the docrafts Creativity Essentials Promotion, the bimonthly collection of new craft products distributed into retail and promoted through Creativity magazine and its sister website docrafts.com.

As part of an aggressive acquisition strategy Creativity debuted on the UK newsstand in September 2012.

Additional category-specific titles, including new cake magazine Let’s Bake, will be distributed through the retail channel and inserted with newsstand copies of Creativity. A magazine app will also be published on the Apple newsstand to help deliver the docrafts message to an even wider audience. Additional new marketing initiatives will be unveiled in due course.

Terry Bowles, CEO of docrafts comments: “Creativity plays an important part in an extremely successful marketing strategy for docrafts in supporting retailers and inspiring customers to try new ideas and new products, but needs to work harder. We’re delighted to be working with River on this exciting project as their ideas and newsstand expertise makes them the right partner for the future.”

Commenting on the win, River CEO Dr Nicola Murphy (pictured) says: “Creativity Magazine plays to our core skills of growing circulation and building brand veracity in vertical markets and we’re looking forward to contributing our content marketing expertise to the wider docrafts business. docrafts have a great management team and we’re looking forward to working with them.”
