Senior promotions at Forbes

Mike Perlis, President and CEO of Forbes Media, has announced that Tom Davis has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer, and Jack Laschever has been promoted to President, Forbes Conferences.

Mr Davis will report to Meredith Kopit Levien, Forbes Media Chief Revenue Officer, and Mr. Laschever will report to Mike Federle, Forbes Media Chief Operating Officer.

“Tom is a transformational leader who has shepherded key teams at Forbes to great success through industry and product disruption. Elevating him to do so at the enterprise level and across our various business units enables even more growth and opportunity for Forbes,” said Ms. Levien. Mr. Davis was most recently Vice President, Sales and Marketing, responsible for Forbes’ online, events and magazine advertising revenues, sales development and brand marketing. With twenty years of ad sales and management experience, Mr. Davis is a digital pioneer who has overseen the creation of marketing solutions for Forbes' advertising partners. He has helped launch several Forbes product and process innovations that connect marketers with audiences in measurable ways, says Forbes.

Before joining Forbes in 2008, Mr. Davis held multiple roles at International Data Group – a global technology media company. He became the General Manager of IDG's Customer Access Group - winning a min's Best of the Web Gold Award. He was also Associate Publisher of the weekly newsmagazine Network World.

Mr. Davis replaces Jack Laschever, who has been promoted to President of Forbes Conferences.

Mr. Laschever will have full P&L responsibilities in managing the company’s growing conference business. “Forbes has developed several substantial non-advertising revenue related businesses,” said Mr.

Federle “and conferences is one in which we have a huge opportunity for future growth. I’m delighted to have an executive of Jack’s experience and talent leading this important new revenue initiative.”

Prior to joining Forbes, Mr. Laschever was Senior Managing Director of Venture Capital for DPEC Partners. Jack began his career in advertising sales with the launch of European Travel and Life, and then joined Esquire magazine. He also held several key positions at American Express Publishing, including Associate Publisher of Travel & Leisure and Publisher of Departures. He also served as Publisher of GQ and President of the Miller Sports Group, publishers of Tennis, Cruising World and Sailing World.
