Songlines bumper issue

Songlines’ Jan/Feb issue is a bumper Christmas issue bagged with two CDs and a wall calendar for 2011.

According to distributors COMAG: “Covering music from traditional and popular to contemporary and fusion, Songlines features artists from all around the globe: from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe; from Miriam Makeba to Mariza; from Gilberto Gil to Gogol Bordello and from Bjork to Buena Vista Social Club.

Every issue of Songlines is packed full of the latest CD reviews, artist interviews, guides to particular world music traditions, travel adventures, city guides, frontline reports and concert listings.

The Jan/Feb-11 issue will be a bumper Christmas issue bagged with two CDs and a wall calendar for 2011.

The first CD will be the regular 15-track ‘Top of the World’ featuring the best tracks from the last world music album releases. This issue will have an exclusive guest playlist by guitarist John Williams.

The bonus second CD on this issue will be an 18-track ‘Music from Shetland’ sampler, produced exclusively for Songlines. Offering a snapshot of the island’s musical diversity and talent, the CD shows how Shetland music is continually influenced and shaped by the surrounding environment land, sea, sky and especially its people.”
