Stylist reveals its inaugural Fashion Power List 2013

Stylist celebrates the fashion industry’s 50 most powerful and influential people, products and innovations of the past 12 months with their first Fashion Power List 2013.

Behemoth-like in its growth and influence, says Stylist, the fashion industry can never be underestimated, which is why Stylist is celebrating the seminal products, creative designers, ground-breaking brands and industry influencers who have done the most to change the fashion landscape over the past 12 months. Voted for by a panel of the most important people in the style world today, taken from all corners of the industry – a designer, a muse, the chief executive of the British Fashion Council – Stylist’s Fashion Power List 2013 pays tribute to the 50 most influential visionaries of the year.

Susan Riley, acting editor of Stylist says, “Fashion not only fuels our imaginations but our economy, bringing in a massive £21billion a year. With the help of 11 internationally influential judges, Stylist’s Fashion Power List 2013 recognises the products, people and innovations which have thrilled and amazed us over the last 12 months.”

Alexandra Fullerton, fashion director of Stylist says, “I’m so excited about Stylist’s Fashion Power List 2013. By working intensively with such a brilliant panel of industry insiders we were able to really get the inside track on what has been going on in the fashion world over the last year, which has given our list unique authority and gravitas. Stylist’s Fashion Power List 2013 is a true reflection of the state of the British fashion industry.”

Stylist’s Fashion Power List 2013 was decided by a stellar panel of fashion judges over a three month period which began with initial nominations of over 300 names and intensive research and ended with a lively three-hour debate to finalise the top 50. The panel included: Jonathan Saunders, fashion designer; Lulu Kennedy, founder of Fashion East; Imran Amed, founder and editor of The Business Of Fashion; Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council; Ruth Chapman, co-founder of matchesfashion.com; Laura Bailey, model, writer and cultural ambassador for the British Fashion Council; Harriet Quick, fashion journalist and ex-fashion features director of UK Vogue; Joan Burstein, founder of Browns, Caroline Issa, executive fashion director at Tank; Susie Lau, fashion blogger and Alexandra Fullerton, fashion editor of Stylist magazine.
