T3 launches fully interactive Android edition

T3, the UK’s biggest selling iPad magazine, claims to have become the first ever UK magazine to launch a fully interactive Android Edition.

Since its launch in October 2010, the award-winning T3: iPad Edition has been the UK’s most successful lifestyle app, the highest grossing app on the Apple Newsstand and the ninth highest grossing app on the entire App store, beating off competition from The Sunday Times and Empire, says Future.

Developed to look and feel just like the groundbreaking iPad Edition, T3: Android Edition will build on the title’s success. Showcasing the same high quality content, the Android Edition features 360-degree, hands-on product photography, breaking news, interactive reviews and stunning image galleries.

Luke Peters, Editor of T3, says: “The Android market is flourishing, with millions of people now using Android devices and downloading apps. Our success on the iPad has cemented our position as the number one choice for tech fans and I anticipate Android users will embrace our new edition with a similar vigour.”

Future brands are among the most popular on Apple Newsstand – delivering over six million app downloads in its first month.

Android now forms a core part of the tablet and smartphone market and a multitude of high performance devices are available. T3: Android Edition has been developed for large format Android tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Xoom, the Asus EeePad Transformer and the Acer Inspire 10.1.

Nial Ferguson, Group Publishing Director of Future’s Technology portfolio, says: “As the first UK magazine to embrace Android with a fully interactive edition, T3 is once again at the cutting edge. Becoming a first mover on Android allows us to learn more about the consumers of this growing platform and to ensure we are serving our audience, no matter what tablet device they own. We’re continually looking for new and innovative ways to develop T3 into a global multi-platform brand and the launch of the Android edition is a crucial step in this process.”

The T3: Android Edition is available to download from Android Market each month for the price of £2.99. Print subscribers with an Android tablet device can download the edition for free as part of their subscription package.
