The Green Parent celebrates 50th issue

The Green Parent, the green lifestyle magazine, celebrates its 50th issue this autumn with a new design, more giveaways and a branded app.

In response to a successful 2012 reader survey, the magazine has been re-designed from the ground up.

“We wanted to make The Green Parent a complete green lifestyle magazine. The new design and content gives readers the best in Parenting, House & Garden, Fashion, Health & Beauty, Travel, Craft and Learning; we've also added a new upfront section to promote events, celebrations and ideas," says Editor Melissa Corkhill. Size, paper weight and finishing have also been improved to make a more compact easy-to-read experience.

"We are seeing great sales already through the iOS platform with the magazine appearing in the top 3 'What's Hot' and 'Free App' sections in the Parenting Newsstand," says Art Director Jez Harris.

The App was developed by long term digital partner Exact Editions and offers subscribers free access to the entire back catalogue of The Green Parent offering a vast amount of information at the fingertips.

"We're really excited about the possibilities of digital going into 2013, with over a thousand installations of our free sample app in less than a month we are suddenly able to get our magazine into the hands of readers worldwide."

Independently published by Green Parent publications, the magazine has gone from strength to strength as more parents look for alternative and natural ways to raise their children, say the publishers. Covering all aspects of green living and parenting from relationships through pregnancy, birth, young children to teens it spans a wide range of subjects for parents at any stage of their journey.

“Family, positivity and inspiration is still at the heart of what we do,” explains Jez Harris.

It’s a home-based cottage business allowing the couple to home educate their two daughters alongside creating the magazine. “Fifty issues in and I can still say that I totally love my job,” enthuses the Editor, Melissa Corkhill. “Here’s to the next fifty!”

Issue 50 will be on sale through WH Smith, Boots, newsagents and independent stores on 9th November.
