The Sunday Times Style Magazine appoints Creative Director

Style, the Sunday Times’s weekly fashion and beauty magazine, yesterday announced that Suzanne Sykes will join as creative director later this year.

Sykes, formerly creative director at ELLE, is an award-winning veteran of both fashion monthly and weekly glossy magazines, having been creative director for the launch of Grazia UK, Marie Claire UK and re-launch of Marie Claire US, says News UK. She has also worked across the Mirror Group magazine titles.

Sykes has more than 20 years of experience and is known as one of the most innovative creative directors in the industry. The move is a further commitment to luxury fashion for News UK, owner of The Times and The Sunday Times, which has re-launched The Times’s LUXX magazine and hired Lorraine Candy from ELLE in recent months.

Lorraine Candy, Editor-in-Chief of Style, said: “The Sunday Times attracts the most experienced talent in the industry and I am pleased to announce Suzanne Sykes will join me from ELLE to become creative director at Style magazine – she will lead an innovative refresh of the magazine making it work visually across all platforms. Suzanne has worked with the biggest photographers in the fashion industry and will support me in leading Style into an exciting new era. Her appointment underlines our commitment to luxury fashion and my drive to create new luxury products for the digital consumer.”

Suzanne Sykes said: “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to reinvent such a prestigious and well-read magazine as Style and be a part of an iconic newspaper with the envied reach of The Sunday Times.”
