Tindle appoints Dean Cooper
Dean Cooper: “I am pleased to have joined Tindle at a time when there are exciting opportunities ahead to enhance how people use, enjoy and come back to our services based upon the experience which our tech enables.”

Tindle has announced it has appointed a new group IT director to lead the next phase of its digital technology implementation strategy.

Dean Cooper has joined the company to oversee its computer systems, networks and security, including managing hardware and software and supporting the expansion of the digital platforms, added the publisher.

Dean joins having previously worked across a range of businesses, including a ferry operator, a care home group and South West-based shared services provider Delt, where he was involved in the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccines by overseeing the delivery of booking systems.

He has also led digital transformation for the Discovery Channel and high street retailer Primark.

Dean, who lives in north Cornwall, said he was looking forward to leading the company’s IT development.

He said: “I am pleased to have joined Tindle at a time when there are exciting opportunities ahead to enhance how people use, enjoy and come back to our services based upon the experience which our tech enables.

“My approach to digital transformation, including my time introducing impactful health care digital services at InHealth, a UK leader in medical imaging and supporting services, is not to throw tech at people for the sake of it but to ensure it always has purpose.

“For a business with a traditional product in newspapers I have found the outlook here to be very modern.

“It is great to be working for a company which is rooted in the community with its reputation for ultra local news.

“We need to be able to provide the digital services which local readers and businesses expect as the way that people get their news and information is changing so we will continue to adapt.

“Outside of work, I am a children’s author using digital services to create and deliver digital and print books which has good synergy to the journey ahead for Tindle.”

Managing Director Scott Wood said: “We have made considerable progress over recent years in delivering websites which meet the modern needs of readers and advertisers, as well as equipping our staff with the equipment and training to serve those audiences.

“With Dean’s appointment we look forward to embarking on the next phase in our digital journey by drawing upon his experience.”
