The new Crime TV site is part of a significant cross-platform advertising deal secured by IPC Weeklies to promote Crime & Investigation Network’s programming.
Whatsontv.co.uk’s new Crime TV site will feature on the site until March 2010. It will offer visitors a variety of content including real-life crime files, games, quizzes, galleries and video clips. Whatsontv.co.uk will flag the new site prominently on its homepage and there will be adverts running across IPC’s goodtoknow network to drive traffic to the site. The Crime TV site will also be promoted with competitions and an email campaign.
The six-figure advertising campaign for Crime & Investigation Network breaks in print this month with a series of 4-page advertorials. The ‘Crime Chapter’ advertorials will highlight the channel’s newly commissioned programmes and will appear regularly in What’s on TV, TV easy, TVTimes and Chat until the end of the year.
James Pestell, marketing director at Crime & Investigation Network, says: “When we launched in 2006, CI quickly established itself as the home of true crime on television in the UK, with millions tuning in every month. The partnership with IPC will spread the news to many more crime fans and allow them to sample some of the terrific content we have on offer. Initially we’re focussing on brand new programming commissioned by the channel in the UK, starting with Living With Murder, a six part series examining the traumatic effect on the family and friends of people who lost their lives in violent circumstances.”
