WoodWing launches its global Next Wave Tour

Following a successful pilot event in Amsterdam on January 24, WoodWing kicked off its global Next Wave Tour 2012. The series focuses on the next wave of Digital Publishing according to WoodWing and Adobe.

The Next Wave Tour is a global series of free local events organized in collaboration with local partners. The events feature speakers from local partners and publishing customers, Adobe, and WoodWing. The sessions are designed for magazine and newspaper publishers, corporates and agencies who wish to prepare for the next steps in the evolution of digital publishing.

“Publishers around the world now have to make serious decisions with regards to increasing the efficiency of their digital publishing activities and finding additional ways to monetize their content,” said Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing Software. “With high-profile keynotes and interesting technology sessions at every stop of our New Wave Tour, we help publishers to learn about strategies already proven to be successful and exciting innovations enabling them to prepare to be part of this next wave in digital publishing. The huge success of the pilot event in Amsterdam shows that we hit the mark with this offering.”

Initially targeted at 75 attendees, the event in Amsterdam eventually attracted 120 visitors from publishers, corporates and agencies, says WoodWing. The event was sponsored by PubliQare, a WoodWing Gold Partner based in The Netherlands. It featured a customer case study by Staci van Schagen from Online & Business Technology at WPG Uitgevers, a renowned Dutch publisher that specializes in magazines and books. Also on the agenda was a review of the state of publishing by WoodWing CEO Janssen, a demonstration of WoodWing´s multi-channel publishing system Enterprise by WoodWing´s Evangelist Victor Cardoso, a demonstration by Paul Van Keeken, EMEA Marketing Manager from Adobe, and a session on HTML store customizations by Pieter van Helvoirt, media consultant at PubliQare.

Throughout the year, the tour will continue with stops at major publishing hubs in the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia. Not all cities and locations are fixed yet, but will soon be published at nextwave.woodwing.com. Publishers who are interested in the tour can also stay up to date on upcoming events on Twitter at #wwnextwave.
