Company Unveils New Look For 2012

Company magazine, the magazine for young women published by Hearst Magazines UK, has undergone a striking, ‘street-wise’ new re-design.

Following extensive research into the influences and purchasing habits of 19-30 year old women, the popular monthly magazine has been re-styled to further support the desires of its readers and to recognise the influence of new media, says Hearst, in particular fashion blogging.

The first new look issue, featuring fashion icon Alexa Chung on the cover, goes on sale on Monday January 16.

In a nod to the success of Company’s High Street Edit bi-annual, the magazine features a new look, size and feel - it is more fashion and beauty-focused with bite-sized articles and increased imagery and illustration. The entire magazine, including the cover, has been printed on matt paper stock with unique, stylish fonts and colours used throughout.

The new look Company also features the launch of the brand’s first ever Style Blogger Awards, in association with New Look, aimed at celebrating the UK’s top fashion bloggers; and a new Facebook group called the Company Collective which allows users to interact directly with the magazine and influence content and future coverstars.

Editor of Company, Victoria White, says: “I am delighted with the new look ‘street wise’ Company particularly as it gives us a point of difference at the newsstand, which is what young women are looking for. It’s a total reinvention of the traditional women’s magazine and has been designed with our readers’ needs and demands in mind. The new look Company speaks to girls who are ahead of the trends, love fashion - whether it be street style, vintage or high street - are creative, rebellious and love sharing ideas, pictures and inspiration with their friends.”

Ella Dolphin, Group Publishing Director of Hearst Magazine UK’s Young Women’s Group says: “Our Company girl wants to feel unique and how she looks is a defining factor. Company is the first choice for the girl who dreams of being street-style spotted, who loves the nice things in life and documents them all using her camera phone. The restyle, in February, reflects this girl and brings in many of the qualities we know our readers love about both Company and the High Street Edit.”
