Condé Nast Traveller to offer travel journalism course

Condé Nast Traveller has announced that the inaugural Condé Nast Traveller Journalism Course, in association with Nikon, will take place in January 2014.

The two-day writing and photography workshop aims to give attendees an in-depth insight into the world of travel journalism and will be hosted by Condé Nast Traveller’s editor Melinda Stevens. Other key speakers will include Nicholas Coleridge, President of Condé Nast International; Giles Foden, author of The Last King of Scotland; Martin Morrell; and Tony Cross, Executive Editor of cntraveller.com.

Melinda Stevens, Editor of Condé Nast Traveller comments: “With access to some of the most inspiring and talented travel journalists and photographers in the industry today the authority of Condé Nast Traveller is incomparable and it therefore makes perfect sense for us to pass on on our expertise to those wanting to enter into this field.”

Highlights of the course will include one-on-one appraisals by Condé Nast Traveller features and photographic editors, a workshop with Nikon, Q&A sessions, and drinks and networking opportunities at a London hotel.

Attendees will be taught how to pitch a story, improve their contacts, get ahead of the competition, make their photography exceptional, get on the digital ladder and use social media to their advantage.

Condé Nast Traveller’s Publishing Director Simon Leadsford, adds,: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this course and as the world’s most discerning travel title, we are thrilled to be teaming up with Nikon to offer attendees the best possible step up into the world of travel journalism.”

The Condé Nast Traveller Journalism Course will take place at Vogue House, Hanover Square, London W1 from 25-26 January 2014. The course is open to anyone over the age of 18 and costs £550. For further details contact cntwriters@condenast.co.uk.
