Daily Record website to show Scotland rugby match

Scottish rugby supporters worldwide will be able to watch Scotland’s opening rugby summer tour Test match against the USA this weekend free on the Daily Record website.

The match in Houston – with new head coach Vern Cotter taking charge of Scotland for the first time – will kick-off at 1.30am on Sunday (8 June) UK time and fans can log on to dailyrecord.co.uk to catch all the live action. The game will also be available to view on the website throughout the rest of the day.

The game is the first of 16 as Scotland count down to the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

Allan Rennie, Managing Director of Media Scotland, publishers of dailyrecord.co.uk, said: "We are delighted to be making a little bit of rugby history by live-streaming USA v Scotland free to fans across the world.

"It is another ground-breaking deal from Scotland's biggest and fastest-growing website and we're pleased to be doing it with Scottish Rugby at such an exciting time for the sport."

Scottish Rugby’s Director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay said: “We are delighted that the USA v Scotland game will be broadcast live and online by the Daily Record.

“The Daily Record have been great partners recently supporting Scottish Rugby with their promotion of the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s and this new development enabling all Scotland rugby fans to watch the USA v Scotland game for free and online is welcome news."

The match can also be accessed on the Record’s sister website mirror.co.uk. The sites are the only places UK viewers will be able to watch the game live, say the publishers.
