ES Magazine announces new editorial appointments

Evening Standard Magazine has bolstered its editorial team ahead of a relaunch in February.

Rasha Kahil joins the title on 4 January as Art Director. Rasha, who was previously Associate Art Director at British Vogue, will be working with David Lane of art and design consultancy Lane & Associates on the redesign of the magazine.

Anna van Praagh has been named Features Director. Previously Assistant Editor of The Daily Mail’s Femail section, Anna has also worked at the Sunday Telegraph News Review and Stella magazine. Anna will lead the features team, which includes Samuel Fishwick, who is promoted to the new role of Features Writer, covering arts, culture and social trends. Samuel will also edit the social pages.

Lily Worcester joins the team on a permanent basis as Lifestyle Assistant. Alice-Azania Jarvis and Dipal Acharya remain Features Editor and Commissioning Editor respectively.

Tilly Macalister-Smith joins the magazine in the newly created role of Fashion Features Director. As the magazine increases its coverage of fashion and accessories, Tilly will be responsible for all style-related editorial copy. Tilly was previously freelance writing for titles including The Financial Times and The Telegraph. Prior to this she was Fashion Features Director at Matchesfashion.com, and started her career at British Vogue.

Nicky Yates remains in her role of Fashion Director and continues to lead the fashion team, which includes Anish Patel, who has been promoted from Junior Fashion Editor to the newly created role of Menswear and Grooming Editor, and Sophie Paxton, promoted from Junior Fashion Editor to Merchandise Editor. Jenny Kennedy remains as Junior Fashion Editor.

Katie Service, who is currently Acting Beauty Editor at InStyle, and was previously Deputy Beauty Editor of The Sunday Times Style, joins as Beauty Editor on 4 January.
