Essentials readers guest edit Real Women special

IPC Southbank’s Essentials is publishing its second annual Real Women special, and this time readers are editing, as well as starring in the issue.

Once again, there are no professional models or celebrities in the entire issue, only readers from cover to cover. For this second special issue, seven reader guest editors worked with the Essentials team to plan the issue’s content from fashion through to health. They also star on the gatefold cover.

Essentials editor Jules Barton-Breck says: “Our first Real Women special last year was a great success and from that point on we’ve featured only readers on our covers.  Essentials’ positive tone and mix of affordable and inspiring content is perfect for these times and readers love that the magazine is all about them. With the seven reader guest editors on board, this second Real Women issue is going to be an even bigger hit.”

Publisher Kate Mowatt adds: “Essentials just keeps getting better and more and more women are discovering it. The celebration of the reader is at the heart of the magazine’s success and has helped us secure exceptionally strong circulation growth.”

In the latest round of ABCs, says IPC, Essentials was the fastest growing women’s monthly title, increasing by 9.9% on the year.

The Real Women special issue is on sale now.
