Together with the previous acquisition of Scienta, the newly established business combination allows the WoodWing Group to enrich its Enterprise Information Management offering with document management and archiving capabilities, while allowing Expansion to scale its Xtendis platform internationally, says WoodWing.
Expansion delivers the Xtendis SaaS platform, an information management platform which is used to safely store and organize business-critical content, and make it easily accessible. Xtendis connects and integrates with almost every primary business application. It is used in, for example, digital client or employee files, managing financial statements, invoice processing and quality or record management. Expansion is headquartered in Rotterdam and services 250+ customers, mainly in financial services, industry, wholesale, education, healthcare, and logistics.
According to WoodWing, both WoodWing and Expansion sit at the heart of content processes of organizations, making content and information accessible across teams and throughout the organization and distributing it in an efficient and secure way. This strategic combination allows the WoodWing Group to diversify its value proposition into new business areas in a way that complements its existing proposition. Furthermore, Expansion’s dominant position in the Dutch market can be expanded through WoodWing’s global presence and reselling partner network.
Ross Paterson, CEO of WoodWing: “We are thrilled to welcome our new colleagues, customers and partners to the WoodWing family. With the addition of Expansion, WoodWing Group enriches its product portfolio with additional cloud-based content management capabilities giving us a stronger position in the Enterprise Information Management market. After adding Scienta’s content management and knowledge sharing capabilities to the group earlier this year, we see the addition of Expansion as a great next strategic step in further building an international leading Content Orchestration player.”
Johan Blank, Founder/CEO of Expansion: “Spread our wings and fly away” will be the next step for Expansion. We are really looking forward to work with the people from WoodWing and their international ecosystem to expand the use of the Xtendis platform into the rest of Europe and the United States. Being part of the WoodWing family will also enable us to offer broader solutions to our current and future customers.”
Key management of Expansion will stay on board and will hold an equity stake in the business combination.
