Forever Sports hits newstands this week

The biggest men’s magazine in a decade hits the newsstands this week, says Haymarket Network.

Forever Sports is a new fitness, style and sports brand for 18-30 year old men, published under contract by Haymarket Network.

The 132-page premium product aims to challenge publishing convention by offering exclusive interviews with the world’s coolest sports stars and the best style and fitness advice for only £2.00.

The distribution model for the monthly magazine is also unique, combining the traditional newsstand with 400-plus Sports Direct stores and over 100 USC, Flannels and Cruise stores. In total more than 160,000 copies of Forever Sports will be distributed making it the biggest new paid-for men’s magazine launch since 2004, says Haymarket Network.

The debut issue includes exclusive access inside the extraordinary world of the planet’s greatest boxer, Floyd Mayweather, David Beckham in Miami, the European golf championships, world marathon record holder Wilson Kipsang on beating Mo Farah plus Ron Burgundy, American Samoa, Charlie Webster, Andrew Osagie, Michael Bisping and pole dancing. Not to mention 33-pages of fitness, technique, style and fashion.

Forever Sports editor, Nikki Wicks said: “It’s an exciting time, it’s not every day you get the chance to work on a new launch. It’s going to be bigger than Pharrell’s hat, although I would say that!”

Simon Kanter, editorial director of Haymarket Network, said: “It’s a fantastic challenge and one we are all relishing. Coming just a month after the launch of Porter magazine it’s also a further demonstration of the power that print still has in a modern multi-channel, multi-media world.”

The monthly title launches in Sports Direct, USC, Flannels and Cruise stores on 15th March 2014 and in retailers (including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Waitrose, WHSmith, Co-op and Morrisons) on 18th March 2014. Alongside the print magazine, the Forever Sports brand will also have a website (foreversports.com) with unique content and social channels, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
