The move follows an extensive six-month period of consultation with BIFM members and stakeholders - a process which has resulted in a fresh new look and a greater focus on how information concerning this dynamic profession is presented, say the publishers, Redactive.
The new design includes a move to perfect-bound A4 format and an improvement in paper stock - but it’s also part of a significant change in frequency; FM World has been fortnightly since its launch in 2004, with 182 editions published over that period.
Martin Read, FM World’s editor, commented: “The new magazine and its monthly format allows us to focus on important topics in new and more comprehensive ways. Facilities management is at a critical moment of development as a profession and I’m excited to be introducing a new FM World format that will allow us to better report on the sector’s increasing relevance to UK plc.”
Judith Cutts, Head of Marketing and Events at BIFM said: “The new look FM World provides our members with a larger magazine, packed with more relevant and tailored content in each issue. Working with Redactive we’ve really considered the presentation of data dashboards and infographics to help make the densely packed detail more accessible to our readers. As a result of the consultation process we’ve also introduced a new section called ‘Facilitate’. This section provides a detailed view around specific issues or look at broader themes facing the profession and uncovering FM's impact on business, the economy and society; helping to support our organisation’s objectives.”
