The virtual event coincided with Project Wingman’s 1st anniversary.
Project Wingman is a charity set up by furloughed air crews and pilots from across the airline sector. Their ongoing mission is to provide a 1st Class Airport Lounge experience in hospitals across the UK to pamper battle weary NHS workers during their arduous shifts.
They assembled a volunteer workforce of 6,000 aircrew and set up lounges in 80 hospitals across the UK, more recently adding a converted double decker bus to their fleet, allowing them to create a pop up lounge in hospitals too.
During the last 12 months, Gold Key Media have managed to secure, donate and deliver daily supply of over £4 million worth of magazines, newspapers, beauty products, snacks, drinks, seeds etc to Project Wingman which have been given directly to NHS workers.
Chris Horn, MD of Gold Key Media said: “This award means the world to the Gold Key Media team as our involvement with this amazing charity has been an incredible journey of positivity and inspiration. The NHS staff have deserved every single one these small luxuries and Project Wingman provided the perfect solution that allowed us to achieve this incredible result. Publisher support in particular has been tremendous and our thanks go to all of the publishers that got behind this wonderful initiative so magnificently.”
