Head of Video role created

Johnston Press is to appoint a Head of Video to develop the use of online video content across the business.

The new person will help lead the strategy for the use of video within the Group and grow the video audience on JP platforms.

Group editorial development director Paul Napier said: “People want to see video and advertisers want to be associated with video, so there’s little doubt we need more.

“The expectations of our audiences grow all the time and it’s clear video must be a key part of what we offer those audiences to exceed their expectations.

“There are a number of examples across Johnston Press already of centres which produce good video, both as one-offs or as part of a regular programming plan. Going into 2013, video has to become a greater part of our everyday activity across the whole company.

“The new Head of Video will work with staff across every publishing unit to increase the volume and quality of the video we produce.”
