Hearst Empowering Women Selects London For UK Tour

London has been selected as one of only three destinations to host a evening of celebration and discussion as the Hearst Empowering Women initiative takes to the road.

Chaired by Miranda Sawyer and led by Lorraine Candy, editor-in-chief of Elle, Sarah Bailey, editor-in-chief of Red, Louise Court, editor of Cosmopolitan, Lindsay Nicholson, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping and David Moynihan, editor of Digital Spy, the London event will take place on Monday 7 July at the Southbank Centre. It will invite the women of London to take their place at the unique celebration of the innovation, opportunity and potential of modern British women, says Hearst.

The event will give guests an exclusive opportunity to meet the editors and experts of three of the UK’s most influential magazine brands, but also a space to be inspired by other women, sharing their own stories and examining the questions and concerns that women face, from body confidence and careers to starting their own business.

Part of the major new editorial brand from Hearst Magazines UK, the tour also visits Bristol and Manchester, bringing to life the brand’s dedication to supporting and inspiring women to help them fulfil their potential.

Capturing the spirit of feminism at the heart of Hearst’s titles, Hearst Empowering Women brings together expertise and advice from across the entire Hearst portfolio, hosting inspiring talks from powerful and influential women, providing tips for success and offering invaluable advice. In association with TheirWorld, Sarah Brown’s charity for women and children, the tour is supported by a practical digital resource that launched earlier this year.

Hearst Magazines UK CEO Anna Jones said: “I am so proud and delighted to be launching the Hearst Empowering Women tour in one of the UK’s most exciting cities. For me, empowerment means inspiring and guiding women to reach their full potential and help break down the real or indeed perceived barriers that prevent them achieving the most from life. As a city thriving with new opportunities I think our evening in London should help to do just that.”

Tickets cost £45, which entitles you to a glass of Champagne and an exclusive goody bag worth £50. Hearst Empowering Women is in partnership with Sarah Brown’s charity TheirWorld; a part of the ticket price will help fund a series of projects providing inspiration and mentoring to girls and women around the UK.
