Kenya will re-join from Grazia where she was Deputy Editor, having previously held the position of Deputy Editor at ELLE UK. Kenya’s career spans working across both sides of the Atlantic for some of the industry’s most prominent titles, and her writing has appeared in the likes of The Washington Post, The Guardian, Essence, Harper’s Bazaar and The Evening Standard.

Kenya is the author of the book Girl: Essays on Black Womanhood as well as the founder R.O.O.M Mentoring, where she advocates for greater diversity within the fashion industry. Most recently, Kenya was awarded the Global Leader of Change Award at the British Fashion Awards for her inspiring work within the fashion industry.

Kenya will be supported by Executive Editors, Natasha Bird and Alice Wignall. She will also be working closely on the commercial side with Jacqueline Euwe, Chief Luxury Officer.

Kenya Hunt says: “ELLE UK has always been a space to be bold and brave — a place of possibility and discovery that seamlessly weaves fashion and beauty with the cultural and political. And these are fascinating, momentous and nail-biting times that we are all navigating. So I’m deeply honoured to re-join this important brand I’ve long admired and its first-rate team to connect with an inclusive audience of women as we reimagine an exciting way forward together in this ever-changing world we’re living in.”

Matt Hayes, Chief International Brand Officer, Hearst UK, says: “Kenya is a fantastic editor, with a hugely influential voice, who has a proven track record of generating meaningful content which engages audiences across multiple platforms. Kenya is extremely well-respected in the luxury and fashion industry and is the perfect person to lead this next chapter of the iconic ELLE UK brand. I am very much looking forward to working together.”

Simon Horne, Interim CEO, Hearst UK | President, Hearst Europe, adds: “ELLE is one of the world’s biggest fashion and luxury media brands, and I’m delighted to appoint such a forward-thinking individual as our new UK Editor-in-Chief. Her work and initiatives within the industry are unparalleled and I am excited for her evolution of the brand.”

Kenya will start her position as Editor-in-Chief of ELLE UK from 7th March 2022.
