Home-grown duo appointed as new Devon editors

Two home-grown talents have been promoted within Archant South West’s Devon newspaper team.

Stefan Gordon, 30, has been appointed deputy group editor, while Andrew Coley, 43, becomes production editor.

Stefan joined the Devon team as a trainee reporter in 2008 and was promoted to content editor of the paid-for Sidmouth Herald a year ago.

Group editor, Phil Griffin, said: “Stefan has demonstrated great news and organisational skills since taking over as content editor, leading to the newspaper being only one of a handful in the country to grow its ABC.”

Local boy Andrew joined Archant’s Devon team in 1994 in the distribution department, before switching to editorial in 2002.

“Andrew has worked as a reporter on all the East Devon titles, eventually becoming a sub-editor six years ago,” said Phil.

Archant produces two paid-for titles and three free newspapers in Devon.
