Inaugural London Drum Show

Oyster House staged their inaugural London Drum Show event at London Olympia last weekend (4th-5th September).

The London Drum Show had an impressive turnout of exhibitors and visitors with a near sell out of exhibition space and ticket sales achieved for the two day event, say the organisers.

In association with Drummer Magazine (one of 5 newsstand titles published by Oyster House Media) and featuring an “incredible” line-up of top international artists, the show was very well received by all in attendance. Some 2,000 people attended over the two days which featured live main stage performances as well workshops and clinics given by internationally respected drummers from a host of big name bands such as Kasabian, Van Halen and Miles Davis. The show’s exhibition areas featured some 40 different exhibitors which included major brands; from giants such as Pearl, Yamaha and Roland, to smaller companies, like Matt Nolan and Stageworks Gear.

Mainly known for publishing specialist magazines, including Acoustic, Bass Guitar Magazine, Drummer, Guitar Buyer and RIB Magazine; this show expands the existing ‘live show’ portfolio the company.

In the light of the success of The London Drum Show, Oyster House announced plans this week for two new specialist guitar shows to be launched in 2011.

Hugo Montgomery-Swan, MD of Oyster House Media commented, "We see specialist shows as the way forward. In the current climate, shows have got to be affordable and the venues appropriate to the sector. We therefore shall be using The London Drum Show as a model for our future, highly focused music shows.”
