InStyle & Selfridges launch beauty advice page on Facebook

Fashion and beauty title InStyle has teamed with Selfridges to launch Best Advice We’ve Ever Heard – a multi-platform little black book of secret beauty advice.

Spreading and sharing beauty wisdom is a female-bonding rite. Best Advice We’ve Ever Heard harnesses a wide range of tried and tested tips from A-listers, industry pros, the InStyle and Selfridges beauty teams and readers. Beauty advice can be shared by logging on to www.facebook.com/BestBeautyAdvice.

Based on the popular monthly beauty column in InStyle magazine, the Facebook page has been designed to share with readers all the best advice that has been gathered from industry experts, editors and celebrities and to hear readers’ top tips. A clever edit of insider beauty secrets alongside genuine readers’ advice is collated through an interactive Facebook site.

InStyle will then present this advice in a standalone beauty bible; a 40-page perfect bound supplement, distributed within the September issue of the magazine.

Selfridges’ social media platforms will support the activity alongside in-store activity to take place in May and September across the UK. As well as sharing advice, the Facebook page will include video content with tutorials, competitions and prizes and beauty buys of the day.

Eilidh MacAskill, InStyle editor, says: “Take the fact that every woman loves clever beauty advice that doesn’t cost a penny, and that Instyle has unrivaled access to the best names in the celebrity, fashion and beauty business, and you get the Best Advice We’ve Ever Heard. I just know that women will love sharing their secrets and tips on our Facebook site. And frankly we can’t wait to pick up some new beauty tricks.”

Jayne Demuro, Head of Beauty at Selfridges, says: "Selfridges is excited to be collaborating with InStyle on the Best Advice We’ve Ever Heard initiative. It’s a great way to share beauty knowledge from both customers and beauty industry experts. We anticipate it will be a fun and interactive way of communicating, whilst educating a wide audience.”
