Jane Johnson joins Bauer Media as Executive Content Director

Bauer Media has appointed Jane Johnson as Executive Content Director, London Lifestyle, working across its portfolio of multi-platform brands.

In this new role, Johnson will be responsible for creating new products, developing creative talent and supporting editors to continue to deliver product excellence.

She will report into Abby Carvosso, Group Managing Director, London Lifestyle, but will also work closely with Anne-Marie Lavan (Group Marketing Director) and Mark Hardy (Group Digital Director) to explore new ideas and innovations for the business. She will join the London Lifestyle executive team as part of her role.

Johnson has been working at Bauer Media for the last 12 months as an editorial consultant, working closely with editorial teams to deliver product development particularly on Closer, Heat, Q and Top Sante.

During her 20 year career in the media, Johnson has worked at a senior level across magazines, TV, digital, newspapers and more recently as a multi-media consultant. She has been a senior executive on six national newspapers, including Saturday Editor and Associate Editor of The Sun, Executive Editor of the Sunday Mirror and Assistant Editor of The Scotsman.

She also launched Bauer Media’s Closer magazine in 2002, which won seven awards during her five year stint as editor, as well as creating and launching the Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine. Johnson was also Director at Sky Living, the female-focused TV channel and also oversaw the digital operation for all of Sky’s entertainment channels.
