The Travel Press Awards is a prestigious national awards programme created to recognise excellence and achievement within the fields of travel journalism, photography and broadcasting.

Peter Grunert, Editor of Lonely Planet Magazine said “I’m delighted that we have continued to impress the judges of the Travel Press Awards since we launched three years ago. It’s fantastic to have this recognition for our relatively young publication and its talented team who go the extra mile to provide trusted travel advice and inspiration in each issue.”

Lonely Planet magazine launched in the UK in November 2008. It now has a circulation of 62,204 (ABC Jan-Jun2011) and retains its number one spot at the UK’s best-selling travel magazine, say the publishers.

Lonely Planet Magazine is now published by Immediate Media Co, under contract from BBC Worldwide.
