Look readers to design Oasis party dress

Look, the weekly fashion magazine, has joined forces with high street fashion chain Oasis to give readers the chance to design their ultimate Christmas party dress.

The winning dress will be put into production and sold in Oasis stores nationwide in time for the Christmas party season. It is the first time that Oasis has offered the public the chance to design any of its clothing.

As part of the prize, the winner will have VIP seats at The Look Show in association with Westfield Stratford City on 17 September, where their creation will make its high-profile catwalk début. The winning designer will also receive £1,000 to spend in Oasis.

Toby Evans, associate publisher of Look, says: "Look readers are passionate about high-street fashion and this exciting cross-platform activity is a unique opportunity for them to indulge that passion. We're thrilled to be working with Oasis to give our consumers the chance to get hands-on with the fashion industry, and can't wait to see the winning design fly off the shelves!"

Andy Griffiths, communication director at Oasis, adds: "At Oasis we are really excited about this unique project, it is the first time we have run a competition like this for a customer to design a dress for us. We know how much Look readers love their fashion and how knowledgeable they are, so can't wait to see the winning design."

To create their dress, entrants have access to an online tool at www.oasis-stores.com/dreamdress, which they can also use to share their design through Facebook and Twitter.

Entrants had until 5 August to submit their designs.
