Motorsport News relaunch

A 12-page guide to the new Formula 1 season is among the highlights of the relaunched Motorsport News, which hits newsstands for the first time this week.

Haymarket Consumer Media’s only newspaper features a bold new look, rebooted coverage of F1 and world rallying and a fresh approach to giving exposure to grassroots motorsport.

Future issues will include more interactivity, including a new readers’ pictures section, as well as greater use of social media to "spread the MN gospel".

Motorsport News (MN) will also be available as a digital edition for online and mobile reading via the zinio.com digital newsstand.

The redesign has been completed in under four weeks after a “sterling effort” by the MN editorial team in conjunction with art director Paul Harpin.

MN editor Matt Burt said: “A key part of MN’s appeal is that enthusiastic amateur competitors appear in our pages alongside the Lewis Hamiltons of this world, but cramming everything into a weekly can be a major challenge.

“One of the main aims of the redesign was to make easier for readers to navigate quickly to their favourite sections. We also wanted present our unique content, such as our columnists and in-depth reports, in a fresh way.’’

Haymarket Motorsport division publisher Rob Aherne said: “To go from standing start to finished newspaper in under a month is a spectacular effort. The new-look paper will help to capitalise upon MN’s strong-selling start to the year.”
