The award has been launched to recognise a contribution made to Responsible Marketing, giving a team or an individual credit for a creative and privacy aware project or initiative.
Rosemary Smith, co-founder of the DPN & the Data Protection Consultancy, Opt-4 was an inspirational mentor to many. She made a significant contribution to the marketing and data industries, both as influencer and thought-leader. ‘Responsible Marketing’ were the watch words in all her guidance and advice.
This award, supported by the DMA and the DM Trust, is launched in Rosemary’s memory.
The judging panel will be looking for the following:
- How have you embraced the principle of “Privacy by Design”
- Have customer needs been put at the centre of your project?
- How have you encouraged your organisation to support you?
- Can you measure the impact of your project?
It’s free to enter and the winners will receive £1,000 and a trophy.
Jenny Moseley, co-founder of Opt-4 and DPN said, “I’m delighted that we are able to commemorate Rosemary’s significant achievements in the fields of marketing and data privacy with the launch of this award. It is most appropriate that we are looking to recognise Responsible Marketing initiatives - something that Rosemary was passionate about. I’d like to encourage every marketing or data privacy team to enter.”
Rachel Aldighieri, Managing Director of DMA said, “Rosemary was a hugely influential figure within our industry, admired by many for her altruistic nature and focus on responsible marketing. It is only fitting that the DMA pledge our full support to the Rosemary Smith Award and we are delighted to offer the entrants access to the IDM’s world-renowned learning and development programmes.”
The closing date for submissions is 13 December 2019 and the presentation of the award will be at the DMA Data Protection Summit on 28 February 2020.
