From February 1, Alastair Lewis will take over as brand director of Haymarket Consumer Electronics, working with business development director Mike Walsh and the editor-in-chief of What Hi-Fi?, Andy Clough, and the editor-in-chief of Stuff, Will Findlater. Alastair, who oversaw the relaunch of Haymarket’s automotive digital brand autocar.co.uk, doubling its revenue and audience, will also retain responsibility for Haymarket’s international licensing business.
The changes reflect recent investments in Haymarket’s digital portfolio, including the relaunch of What Hi-Fi?’s website last year and the roll out of Stuff digital in south-east Asia.
David Prasher, managing director of Haymarket Consumer Media, said: “Stuff’s international expansion in digital is showing great promise and Alastair’s strong commercial and leadership skills come at a crucial time. We see consumer electronics as one of our core markets and the team he inherits has the respect of the industry globally.”
Alastair replaces Rachael Prasher, who is promoted to Haymarket’s automotive division as brand director of What Car? and Autocar.
“I have absolutely loved working across our consumer electronics portfolio and both Stuff and What Hi-Fi? will go from strength to strength thanks to their class-leading editorial and commercial teams,” said Rachael Prasher. “While I will greatly miss my techie colleagues, I look forward to watching both brands develop further in the UK and internationally.”
Patrick Fuller, Group Director, said: “Alastair Lewis is one of our most respected brand leaders and has an enviable track record as a digital publisher. He joins a strong team in consumer electronics and will build on Rachael’s excellent work in developing our market-leading brands in this vibrant market.”
