The Future Media Lab has revealed new speakers for its upcoming conference on creatively funded media.

The Future Media Lab confirms that Danae Ringelmann, co-founder and chief operating officer of Indiegogo.com, Paul Lewis, special projects editor for The Guardian newspaper, Wouter Bax, editor-in-chief of NU.nl, and Bobbie Johnson, the co-founder of Matter, the most successful crowdfunded digital magazine project launched via kickstarter.com will be presenting at the first European conference on creatively funded media.

The conference, which will take place in Ghent, Belgium on November 6th and is followed by a workshop day on November 7th, addresses the dramatic changes in media funding that are currently affecting European media and publishing organizations.

In addition to these recent inclusions in the program, over 40 leading experts or representatives of innovatively funded media organizations representing 12 different countries will be gathering in Ghent next week. This includes representatives of organizations such as:

• The Knight Foundation // USA

• SonicAngel & FilmAngel.tv // Belgium

• The Economist Group // UK

• BMW Stiftung // Germany

• Scoop.org // Denmark

• Open Society Foundation Media Program // UK

• Media Development Loan Fund // Switzerland

• Fundacion Ciudadana Civio // Spain

• Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso // Italy

This conference and corresponding workshop provide a unique opportunity to open a dialogue between journalists, media companies, foundations, and academics about the future challenges facing the media and publishing sectors in Europe, say the organisers. It offers the chance to share past successes, explore ways in which crowdfunding can boost business, and discuss how innovatively funded media can enable the delivery of quality and local content.
